Your role will be to develop your skills and knowledge to assist in waste management and its movements. GENeco LGV drivers, drive in a safe and fuel-efficient manner, they comply with relevant systems and processes while following company instructions, ensuring a safe and efficient performance. You will need to fully comply with legislation and regulation, be responsible for your own safety and that of others and show a willingness to adapt to change when new work patterns change work requirements.
As our apprentice tanker driver, you will be collecting and transporting sludge to and from specific sites with the aim of 100% compliance and regulatory standards. To achieve this task with minimal costs, you will ensure the product is collected from the correct place and the job is completed according to the schedule. You will be responsible for cleaning and maintaining the inside of the vehicle to a spotless and polished condition, making it a neutral uncontaminated environment. In addition, you will make sure that the outside of the vehicle is always fit for purpose to a standard that you would like to find it on arrival to a shift.
This role will require you to hold a valid UK driving licence and be prepared to complete Level 1 and study towards Level 2 maths and English. There will be a pass/fail end of point assessment, so you will need to be self-motivated, attentive and good at working independently. A great understanding of road risks is required for the role, as well as excellent time management skills and a familiarity with basic health and safety.
