BRS Racehorse Care Apprenticeship

British Racing School

AN APPRENTICESHIP PROGRAMME WHICH OPENS THE DOOR TO THE RACING INDUSTRY

This course is for 16-22 year olds who are interested in a career in racing. Following a successful interview you will embark on this fourteen week programme where you’ll learn everything from horse riding to yard work.

After the 14 week course we’ll find you a full time paid job in a working Horse Racing Yard where you can continue your training, begin an apprenticeship and achieve your Level 2 Diploma, fully supported by The British Racing School.

NO EXPERIENCE IS NECESSARY, BUT A GOOD ATTITUDE IS ESSENTIAL

Successful applicants for the Foundation Course will be hard working, enthusiastic and keen to work in the racing industry. A certain level of fitness is required to work in a yard, so you will be given a fitness test as part of your interview. Yariv Kam is personal trainer who carries out our fitness test, if you wish to contact him then his website is newregym.co.uk

CONTRIBUTION ONLY

Tuition is free for UK residents. Accommodation and meals for the duration of the course are provided at a cost of £850 for twelve and eighteen week courses and £375 for six week courses.

A £100 bond is also payable for each course, which is refundable at the end.

There is currently a bursary available to cover a percentage of this cost if the person comes from a household with a low income. Please contact Carol Bramhill or call 01638 675905 to seek advice or support regarding bursary eligibility.
