Overall Purpose of the Role

To provide overall recruitment support across all early career pathways (Apprenticeships, Kier Degree, Summer Placements, Industrial Placements, and Graduates).

As part of this role you will be able to work towards a recognised Advanced Business Administration (level 3) apprenticeship. This is delivered through one of our selected training providers who will support you through your formal programme alongside the Kier Recruitment Team.

In addition to the formal training programme you will receive hands on experience, including mentoring and coaching from experienced members of the team.

This apprenticeship role is guaranteed for a minimum of 18 months with the opportunity to progress into a variety of different permanent roles following successful completion of the programme

Key Tasks and Accountabilities

  • Manage and respond to e-mails sent to the Early Careers and Apprentice Inboxes and calls.
  • Manage and maintain all Early Careers advertisements on the Kier careers website, universities and other media channels as appropriate.
  • Act as a point of contact for candidates throughout the recruitment process.
  • Organise the assessment centres, interview days and interviews with the support of the Early Careers Recruiters including:
    • Arrange for candidates to attend assessment centres/interviews and provide them with the appropriate details
    • Coordinate the preparation of materials and schedules for assessment centres, manage the diary invites, book accommodation for team, ensure all assessment data is collated and stored correctly.
    • Scan and save all candidate files following the assessment centre.
    • Process candidate expenses.
    • Coordinate the offer and on boarding process with AskHR; Working with them to ensure contracts are issued within the agreed SLA.
    • Accurately record application and offer data.
  • Booking and coordinating fair and event logistics; ensuring venues are identified and booked and the appropriate resources are available and delivered on time.
  • Alongside the Early Careers Recruitment Business Partner, manage the Budget and PO’s for the team.
  • Support the Early Careers Recruitment Business Partner with the marketing collateral for all Early Careers programmes.
  • Maintain contact with undergraduate students ensuring they are kept up to date with Kier news and ensuring they receive their bursary payments on time in February and October.
  • Provide proactive support to the team and internal customers, anticipating needs, seeking and co-ordinating information and alerting individuals to forthcoming deadlines or queries

Essential Skills and Experience

  • 4 GCSE’s grades A-C’s (or equivalent) including Maths and English
  • Good standards of written and verbal communication
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Able to work in a team
  • Willingness to learn within a human resources environment
  • Able to work under pressure and to deadlines
  • Telephone skills
  • IT literate ideally proficient in Excel, Word and PowerPoint
