Joining an Airbus Apprenticeship programme could be the ideal start to your career, just as it has been for many of our Senior Managers today! Our Apprentices receive second to none training, gaining the necessary skills, knowledge and experience to enable you to make an immediate contribution when you enter the workforce.

An Airbus Plant Engineering & Manufacturing Aerospace Apprenticeship offers you the opportunity to gain qualifications with no fees, whilst acquiring new skills through vocational training, and a regular salary.

This exciting Programme is your first step towards becoming an Aerospace Engineer. Through the 4 year Programme, you will gain a Level 2 Diploma in Aerospace and Aviation Engineering, and a HNC in Engineering.  With onsite work to be carried out in the Airbus facility at Filton.

On completion of our 48 month Programme you will become an Aerospace Engineer with Level 2 Diploma and HNC qualifications.

Following successful completion of this Programme the typical roles you may go into could include a broad variety of exciting career paths – Manufacturing Engineer to Quality Engineer; Manufacturing Production Engineer to Test and Commissioning Engineer; Manufacturing Procurement Engineer to Supply Chain & Logistics Engineer – the opportunities are endless!

Tasks

The Apprenticeship will be made up of a combination of day release at Weston College, and work placements in the Filton Plant.  You will undertake rotational placements around the various core functions of the Filton Plant, i.e. Engineering, Manufacturing Quality, Programme and Supply Chain Logistics and a placement outside of the Filton Plant.

During the last 6 months of the Programme, you will be in your final department with a view to developing your skills and competencies in readiness for the next steps in your career.

Skills

In order to be eligible for this exciting apprenticeship, you must have a minimum of either:

  • 5 GCSEs at Grade C or 4 or above, which must include Maths, English Language and Science. If Science was taken as single subjects one of these must be Physics.
  • Plus 1 A level in Maths or Science.

Or

  • or 90+ credits in an Engineering BTEC Level 3 qualification
